Established in 2001, we are a pan-African Fund that supports advocates for Women and Girls' Rights, their organisations, collectives and movements to take actions that sustain their work and themselves before, during and after urgent situations.
Urgent Action Fund-Africa provides financial support for strategic interventions that take advantage of opportunities to advance women and girls’ rights. Such opportunities arise when an unexpected event – positive or negative – creates a situation in which rapid intervention can significantly impact.
We are an activist pan-African rapid response Fund committed to transforming power relations by resourcing advocates for African Women and Girls rights and their formations as an act of solidarity.

Urgent Action Fund Africa is a pan-African Rapid Response Grant Making Fund. We have resourced more than 6,000 grants with a geographical presence in Africa’s 54 countries.
Collectively, our Board Members and Staff members are physically present in more than 15 African countries and speak more than 46 African languages
